Hotel Safety Tips for Travelers
While AMP Security Company is known to provide you with the home security system that gives you 24/7 monitoring protection, we can’t always be with you where ever you go. This is especially true when you are traveling. So to keep you safe while you are away we have gathered some safety tips for you to try while you are staying in the comforts of your hotel room.
Right from the get go you need to be aware of your surroundings and all of your belongings you have brought with you on your trip. When checking into the hotel make sure you keep an eye on your bags. Always keep them close at hand or locked in your car until you can retrieve them. If possible, ask for a room on one of the upper floors. The upper floors are harder to break into from the outside.
Once you have successfully checked in to your room you will want to take a minute to assess the security and safety of your room. Have a valet or bellboy accompany you to your room while you make sure it is completely empty. Make sure the locks are fully functioning. Before you settle in for the night you can wedge something in the door to make it harder to open. It is also a good idea to keep a lamp or flashlight by your bed in case you need a light quickly.
As mentioned before you need to be aware of your belongings at all times. This is especially true when you are getting ready to leave your hotel and go out for the day. Make sure you have the ability to lock up your belongings. Most hotels will have a safe you can use. Make sure all your valuables are placed out of sight and in a secure area. Be careful not to lose your room key. If this does occur ask for a new room when you get back to the hotel. This way you can make sure no one has retrieved your lost card and has access to your room.
While we at AMP Security Company wish we could accompany you on all of your trips, we have to stay with your home and make sure it is protected while you are away. Following the tips above can help you to have a safe and secure hotel stay.
